He's right. 70 bucks and a ford dealership will get you a new key. A friends house burned down and they lost the only key to their F150 in the fire and had to have the vehicle towed to the ford dealership to make a new one. Just goes to show you it's always a good idea to have a spare key.... and not faulty wiring in your house. (sorry if that joke offended anyone)
I bought an extra key for my daughter's Focus from Ford but didn't have them program it. A local lock smith told me he could program the key as long as I had one. I haven't done it yet, but it would be cheaper than having Ford do it.
I'l let you guys know if it works.
