2007 V6 Convertible - after closing door, glass wont come up

9684 Views 10 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Fugu
before going to the garage - i thought of asking you guys -

after clossing door, (doesn't matter right or left) window glass wont come up automatically to hermetically close the car.
the system works in convertiable is when you open the door, the glass come down a bit, and then after you shut the door, the glass comes up... in my case - it is only coming down and not coming up...
can someone lead me to a solution for that?

I am thinking you might have to recalibrate the windows....

Taken from manual:

Short drop glass (Front windows only)
In order to improve door efforts and sealing, your vehicle is equipped
with short drop glass. This feature lowers the glass when either door is
opened. The glass returns to its closed position when the door is closed.
Proper operation of the short drop glass requires that the windows be
calibrated. Though your windows will have been calibrated before
your vehicle is delivered to you, it is possible for the windows to
lose calibration. If a window loses its calibration, your short drop
feature will lower the window, but will not raise it again when the door is
closed. To re-calibrate the window, pull the switch up to raise the
window until it completes its travel and hold the switch up for 2
seconds. Another possible effect of lost calibration is that the feature
may not lower the window. To re-calibrate the window in this case, lower
the window until it completes its travel and hold the switch down for 2
seconds. Immediately after releasing the window down switch, pull the
switch up to raise the window until it completes its travel and hold the
switch up for 2 seconds. Perform Short drop re-calibration with
doors closed only. Re-Calibrating with doors open will cause the
window to continuously bounce back.
Rear Power Windows (Convertible Only)
The rear quarter windows are operated by a single window switch
located at the Driver door window controls. Press and pull the window
switch to open and close the windows.
• Push down and hold the switch to open.
• Pull up and hold the switch to close.

Good job Judi... You're becoming quite the techie. :)
I'm learning from the best here on AFM! :hihi: :shigrin You'll notice you won't see me replying when someone is asking how to attach the space module to the android linkage. :D

And Dave - I have a pdf version of my owners manual... it's awesome and searchable. :)

Judi you might want to post that owners manual to the tech links.

I've tried to post it for others, but It's about 2.3 megs...:headscratch:

I can make a temporary exception to the attachment size. Let me see if I have it.
I increased the allowable size but it still won't take for some reason. Back to the drawing board.
I have a coupe and have the auto glass up and down feature too. We've had some cold days and nights here and it has froze on me a couple of times.... makes me nervous to shut the door in fear of the top of the window catching on the pillar and shattering it. :happyhapp I'm surprised more people in the colder states haven't mentioned or had problems with their's ??

way up here in Edmonton Alberta I get this happening to me. I was thinking it was a loose connector inside the doors.

Its intermittent, when its warm my windows will work perfect with the auto up and down. But depending on the temp only one window will work or it will only go down automatically and not up..

I'll try the calibration.
