Hello all, I am looking for a good wiring diagram for the headlights. I am trying to locate where the ground wires for the headlights Tee together so I can diable my daytime running lights with a relay. I have found one schematic showing 2 bussed electrical centers. It would be nice to have some info showing where these bussed electrical centers are located on the car. Leaving the headlights unplugged works to disable the DRL but it is a pain to plug/unplug when lights are needed. Any info would be appreciated.

BEC is a general term for the entire underhood fuse box. Lines like these (---) in diagrams indicate PORTIONS of that BEC.

Enclosing pictures pages of the wiring diagrams manual from Ford.
I think this is all you need. Ask me if you need more. Ground G201 is somewhere around the glove box as seen in the BEHIND DASH PANEL view. Ground G100 appears to be on top of radiator support next to another ground as appears in engine compartment view.

Caution: Ground G100 is also a ground for the engine cooling fan motor.

I have supplied a diagram of the BEC (underhood fuse box) and a page with related fuse numbers...these correspond to the same numbers in the wiring diagrams pages.

Note: the BEC cover has numbers for fuses under it's cover. Those numbers correspond to numbers in the Mustang owners guide (book you keep in glove box) and those numbers are DIFFERENT from the ones in the illustrations I have sent pictures of. Different numbering system...typical of a manufacturer...one hand does not know what the other hand is doing.

The smart Junction box or SJB in diagram is the in car fuse box (R H kick panel) which also has electronic circuit boards in it.

There is also a fully browesable online service manual listed at the beginning of this tech forum.

Ford Service Manuals - S197

Go there if you need to. click on 'wiring diagrams'. then under component locations you will find an underhood diagram as I sent you but maybe more readable. there are two grounds at right side of car underhood both on top of radiator support. Best to look at them online if necessary to figure out which is which.
also under wiring diagrams online is 'grounds', which is of some help also.

To download any of these pdf files takes some wait time for them to load...at least for me...you see only a grey screen until they are finished downloading.

Note : just now looking at diagrams again, I believe that the other ground on top of rad support is for the PCM engine computer...ground G102, G103. So, one disconnected, car won't run. Other disconnected lights and rad fan won't work.
