2008 Mustang GT concerend about Roush hood scoop install

:headscratch:I just upgraded from a V6 mustang coupe,06' to a beautiful 08' GT and want to make the first mod a rousch hood scoop. My concern is,after the painting and clearcoat, should I do the install myself? If so...will it void my warranty and how difficult will it be. Have restore and some body work exper. but it's been awhile...OR should I have ford or the body shop that's painting it install it? They seem kinda timid with it being so new a mustang when it comes to drilling holes in the hood. I just want it on, and installed correctly. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

I figure if I can cut a big square hole in my hood, drilling a couple of holes should be a piece of cake. Does the scoop come with some sort of template?
yes, there is a template for it... just a little nerv racking when it comes to drilling holes in a brand new hood.lol

It's not hard. The aluminum drills like a dream. Just measure twice and drill once since once you start, there's no turning back. :shigrin
agreed, the aluminum hoods drill easy... I felt the same way when I did my shelby hood pins. Just like stlwagon said measure twice drill once.

Don't get me wrong it is nerve wrecking, but when your done it is one awesome feeling!!
I think it would be cool to make it fully functional. Cut a square out with in the holes to make the hood actually functional :)

That would be a disaster for anyone who drives in the rain!
Thanks guys... I think I will do the install myself, if the shops go yellow on me. Confidence is restored. Thanks again.:D
