It makes this sound before you start moving?
Yes, and it doesn't matter if the car is in neutral or if it is in gear with the clutch engaged. It may very well be the A/C. Have any of you ever heard this in your own Mustang? It makes this sound before you start moving?
I think I know what your talking about and when I actually start moving sometimes I can hear the gears engaging in the rear end. The sound I am hearing seems to be coming from the engine compartment though...I know with my 97 ranger with auto it does that some times and I found out it was the spyder gears in the rear has a little more play and it would let the gears move a little when appling power forward or reverse. It may not be that.
I believe I get the same sound as you doubledco.... i believe its a non-issue.Yes, and it doesn't matter if the car is in neutral or if it is in gear with the clutch engaged. It may very well be the A/C. Have any of you ever heard this in your own Mustang?

You could also remove the belt and listen:scratchchinOne surefire way to determine if the A/C compressor is engaging is to open the hood and watch it while someone else starts the engine. It normally makes a clicking noise when it engages.
