2010 Mustang GT Noise,Shop cant figure it out, HELP!!!

I have a 2010 Mustang GT, this noise is hard to describe but i'll do my best. It has 79k Miles, always regular Oil Changes.
The noise started like 6 months ago, it is a slapping/pop noise when i turn to the left, going 18-25mph and at a 45-90 angle. It does continue to happen if im in gear or not. Now here is where it gets strange, The noise disappeared for like 6 months, and has now suddenly come back. I took it to two shops that i trust, both could not figure out the noise and advised me to take it to ford, i have checked forum after forum, no luck.
I have checked both wheel bearings, they are A-Ok.
No loose sway bar bolts, no lose suspension bolts
Replaced power steering fluid a few times. (The color of the fluid changes after i drive the car, goes to dark brown instead of blue, is this possibly the issue) ? I also checked for rubbing, no noticeably rubbing anywhere, also checked my calipers, no rubbing or marks on my wheels.
I do have some mods, SR Lowering springs (the noise did not start or stop anywhere near adding these mods) Longtubes and full aftermarket exhaust.
I did run over a rock a bit ago that took off the plastic engine cover, the noise came back like a day after that happened, but when i lift the car i cant for the life of me see anything that would rub?

Honestly this is a tough one to diagnose over the internet, but I'll ask a question: Does the noise you are hearing sound like something rubber or maybe metal rubbing metal....or almost like a groaning?

I know I just advised another member that this could be their problem, but I'm curious if you've checked the rear clutch packs lately. Mine went out at 31k miles and I had a terrible noise that I thought was a wheel bearing. It sounded like something rubbing or creating friction...metal on metal to me. Usually you will get some one wheel spin when you take off if the packs are going bad, or so I am told.

Disclaimer: I am NOT a mechanic, I DON'T work for Ford, and I could be completely and utterly wrong. But I know in my case, that's what it turned out to be and it was around the same speeds and angles you are talking about that it would occur.

It sounds almost like metal slapping rubber. and its Rapid.

Wierd thing is, once i hear the noise and turn left 1-2 , it starts making a clank when i go over a bump, like its been knocked loose. THEN it goes away when the car sits, and wont do the clank over speed bumps unless ive made a few turns

The sound now does it when i go over bumps as well. This is very frustrating, this coming monday ill take it to Ford if i cant figure it out this weekend. Is there anything under the car towards the driveshaft that could move while the car is under load turning left ??

Just noticed you said 'full aftermarket exhaust.' This could certainly be a culprit.

check your front inner fender wells, they are plastic and can cause rapid slapping if some of the plastic clips/screws break or come out. hard to find as they go back to their spot so to say when car stopped. good luck

Yes, I have BBK Ceramic Longtubes and an Offroad Xpipe, stock catbackpiping and MAC axlebacks. They are all bolted on, no welding. Could this be the issue? everything appears tight when i checked last week. The sound has evolved into a clank when i go over bumps as well, going to climb under there tonight with a bright light and slap everything until I find the culprit. :frown::| I will also check my fender walls again!

If you're hearing a clank, then that pretty much rules out my guess at clutch packs.

It sounds to me like something is loose or rattling somewhere and it's likely the exhaust. Check to see if anything has room to smack against the hangers or anything like that. That's my best next suggestion.

Are there any components that can be rubbed against while turning left/right under load AND are located underneath the floorboard?
I will check my exhaust first thing this afternoon!

I know that the cats are located in that general area.

I also know you have an O/R setup, so there's no cats but you're still going to have the piping running through that area that may just be loose and swaying enough to cause a noise. All this is guesswork though.

possible engine mounts or trans mount going bad? hard accel and turning left, engine twisting, allowing exhaust to contact body. throwing out ideas. engine mounts, fender linings, etc would have been messed with during the LT install.

Don't forget to check for loose heat shields around the exhaust too. Or anywhere else on the car for that matter.
