Just wondering if any former 2011-2014 Era owners (esp GT owners) made the update to the 2015, and if so what are your comments?

What do you like?
What do you not like?
Are you happy overall?

How drastic is the change?

I love my 2012 GT prem but the lure of the suspension upgrades has me at least considering the idea of a refresh.

My biggest sticking point so far has been not wanting to give up my glass roof.

Thanks.

Cool thread. Here are my two case-in-points... I kept my Boss :) I just bought a 2015 EcoBoost Performance Package Auto this week as it was the cheapest ($25,500), best handling, coolest looking, and best mileage car I could find - I think it's the top of the class in these areas. I'm going to use it as a Daily Driver.

I only have 150 miles on my new EcoBoost Performance Package, but so far my initial impressions are:

What do you like?

- I have the base interior which on the 15's includes so much more - Sync, Power seats, full steering wheel controls, leather wheel and full tilt/telescoping steering wheel. It also has steering normal/comfort/sport modes. Also, the base seats are so much better than the 11-14 base. They have really good side bolsters and feel almost as tight/good as my Boss's Recaros. Head rest is fully tiltable too.

- The day time running lights tri-lights look so cool on the black

- The handling is truly better - the width of the stance, the lightness of the Ecoboost front end, and the brakes are certainly better than my Boss. The IRS really feels planted. Like you point the car and with no drama or thoughts about oversteer, the car just goes. I see how these cars are kicking ass on the track already.

- On the Ecoboost, the power is really impressive. It does fall flat after 4,500, but from most driving RPM's it's certainly smooth and feels fast.

What do you not like?

- Driving position is soooo different with the long hood and boat-like ridges. Like almost a deal-breaker for me, but I'm getting used to it. The 11-14 has a more upright windshield angle and you see the backend of the center *cowl* which to me looks so much better. From the outside the 2015's hood looks cool and the design has grown on me big time, but from inside the car I feel like I'm driving a converse shoe or something.

- My car was new and the passenger door/fender was so out of line it's knocked the paint of the door edge when I opened it - that's not the model's fault, just quality control.

- The base model dash panel buttons are kind of hard to get used to. With the Premium, it's much more ergonomic.

- Really thinking... Hmmm... that's about it.

Are you happy overall?

- For sure.

How drastic is the change?

It's a Mustang and you feel it when you look at it and drive it. So that's good. The driving position and the view of the hood/front-end is the most dramatic change to me. Test drive one and you'll see what I mean. I'm actually already looking at a cowl-like hood to get rid of the boat-like ridges which is all you see when you drive one.

2011 GT Premium - 2015 GT Premium The interior is premium, night and day. That is where you live in the inside, the controls and the seats. It does seem more front hood bias, but also makes up for it in center of gravity very flat linear handling very little roll and had the 2011 with Ford full racing suspension (don't feel like this one needs it) my 2011 was probably one of the best handling ones out there ( many a track days ) and the 15 has it right out of the box not even the competition pkg couldn't see spending $3400 on something I could do for $1500 wasn't crazy about the 19,s either I have the 20's had both of them on sct tuners and getting 5 mpg better in the 15 both with 3.55 the way I drive 19 mpg is an amazing average and I don't reset it, that's over 2000mi. The 2015's driving modes are nice but would be happy with some sort of tc level of intervention. I drive in track mode 85% not at100% because my wife is with me. Plus track apps just begs you to play once in awhile to see if you can better your times. Launch Control is cool. The differences are many would I trade in a perfectly good GT for a new one by perfectly good I mean low miles and no issues. Probably not, 45000mi on the old 2011 and the rear differential moaning and groaning and brake issues (went through rear pads) YES Ford just announced 0% for 72 don't know what you are waiting for.
