I bought my car from Hacienda Ford in Edinburg texas 3 months ago brand new and zero miles on it. I have the car in the shop again for the third Time! The first time I was picking up the kids from daycare and the car turned of when I was waiting for them in line. Ford picked up the car and a few days later they said the ignition fuse had blown out. It had a 15 amp fuse and it should have been a 20amp.A week later it stalled with all the family on the main blvd again. After a week in the shop they said it was the fuel pump module.I picked it up went home and it stalled again! It's in the shop going on three weeks. It stalls like it runs out of gas! I already told the ford rep that I am eyeing a dealer buyback. What do you all recommend? What should I say or do? I am not confrontational but the 3rd payment is due on the first and they got me driving a 2010 Charger!(ENTERPRISE Rental)

Hi,

I had a similar problem. I was told it as the fuel pump and they replaced it. Two months later the same thing happened again. The deal said it was the fuel pump again. Before they replaced it again I got a call back from them saying the car started with out them doing anything. They asked if they could keep it for another day while they tested for for what may be causing this problem. The next day nothing in the test turned up anything. I said I can not take the car since I do not know when/if this will happen again. The service manager spoke with me and agreed with me and say they were going to check all the wiring back to the fuel pump and get back to me. Well about an 1.5 hours later I got a phone call saying they found the problem. It was a short in a wire under the driver seat. It was grounding out the fuel pump. The fixed the short and put it carpet and seat back in and so far its been fine.

This might be what going on with your car. It only happen to me when someone was in the backseat. AND the car started again at the dealer because the guy was in the backseat messing with the fuel pump.

As has been stated, you aren't the first that this has happened to. It's not happening a lot but it does happen. There is a TSB or SSM out on the pump and module.

You can contact Deysha (FordCustSrvc) on here and she can escalate the problem for you and get in touch with the dealer.
