Hurricane Isaac flooded my 2011 5.0 and it is completely dead. i want to get my stuff out of it, but the key fobs won't do anything and the key will not open the drivers door. anyone know of a trick short of a rock through the window? thanks

1st if the key unlatched the lock mechanically just pull hard the window is supposed to roll down to get past the seal of the framless windows if it was really flooded (totaled) use the rock.

sorry dude, I hope the car is your only worry....
what about going through the trunk? The key should open something
Maybe call the Ford Service number that comes standard with the car, they must have come up against this situation before, a car with no power that needs unlocked.

Sorry to hear about your car and good luck.
i like the rock idea....

but ya it sounds like the window is holding it in, since when it rolls out of the seal when you open the door is not happening, its probably being held shut by the 1/2 inch of window in the seal.
Am I only one who wants pics?

This, you should be able to see the manual lock move up/down inside the vehicle, if it moves up, pull hard, if it doesn't, there is no such thing as flooded and "not total loss", grab the rock bro:bigthumbsup....
Sounds like a window broke during the flood....
have fun finding the trunk key hole........
hahahah... Oh wait.......
have fun finding the trunk key hole........
LMAO! Yours didn't come with a hole?
thanks for all the ideas guys, but none worked. when i first got back to the car when the water receeded, the gas flap was opened and the trunk was popped up. i shouldn't have closed that trunk, because that was my only way in. apparently the car signals that it is road kill by popping open the gas flap and trunk. the rest of it is sealed so well, i don't know how the water got in, in .the first place. i'm starting to think the cheapest way in is the gasket around the windshield
Send a PM to Deysha (user name = FordCustSrvc) describing your problem. I have a hard time believing there's no way into one of these cars if you have a key.

Thank you for the mention, Allez Rouge. However, in this case, you'll have to contact your insurance company, X2011-5.0. Have them come out and try to get it open for you. Since this is not a warrantable issue, Roadside Assistance will charge you.
