A few weeks ago I was cruising at 65mph on a dark highway and came face to face with a deer. The poor animal ran directly into my car. Happened so fast I did not have time to react. Immediately I pulled over and turned my car off. I was so afraid of potentially engine damage. The thought of my supercharger being destroyed made me nauseas. It was too dark and unsafe to get out and look so I decided to turn the car back on. Did not seem to have any problems driving.

Once I pulled over in a well lit area I saw the damage. My carbon fiber hood really took a beating. Truly shows how tough they really are. The insurance agent appraised the damage at $6800. Nothing mechanical was damaged other then a slightly bent Roush front intercooler.

I really have been liking the new front facia and hoods of the 2013-2014. I decided since this all had to be replaced anyway, might as well make the conversion. My factory HID headlamps were both cracked and I thought I would be able to replace them with the new style. Unfortunately the wiring would have been a nightmare to convert. I wanted the new TruCarbon A72kr hood, but would have taken 6 weeks to make. Instead I went with the Cervini Stalker hood and used the CDC upper grille. All the work was done at Freehold Ford. Could not have asked for a better body shop to work with. Truly car guys themselves. Here are some before, during and after pictures of my car.

I will be adding the Roushcharged decals to the hood scoop. I absolutely love it!

Nice to know about Freehold Ford. I have an 89 Mustang and my son just got an 06 convertible. I didn't know they were car guys.

Most dealerships these days do not do their own body work. Freehold Ford does all paint and body modifications in house. They really did a great job!

There was a 2012 Boss in there at the same time getting an upgraded bumper and a tiger racing hood.

How much did the conversion cost and where did you get the front end and hood?
The hood is a cervini stalker 2 hood for 2013-14. I am not sure of the cost since the entire damage was roughly $7,000.

THAT.LOOKS.NICE...

Better than before IMHO.

If it weren't for the venison in the freezer, I'd be getting sick of deer. Hit one with a Neon about 9 years ago; another hit the side of my F150 a few months ago. I don't carry collision or comprehensive so it was out of pocket both times.

Payback time comes in November. bat.gif
