Got 'er yesterday. Sweet!

Thanks for help from forum in picking one out. Wife's car, 6 speed auto, but don't let that fool you one bit about the amazing power in this car. I still got my 4x4 Ranger, think you can see it in one of the pics.

Yep, she still doesn't understand why all the boys keep looking at her everytime she drives. Maybe because its a Camaro and Challenger killer and because it might have 100 more HP than the old stangs...

...Maybe

Congrats and no apologies for an automatic

Congratulations and no apologies for an automatic trans. My automatic 5.0 is plenty quick and driver seating very comfortable.
I love to shift a stick myself but the thing about having a stick as a daily driver is when you don't want to shift the stick, well, you still have to. Ford has done a pretty nice job on this drive train.
I like the extra room in the floor board where the clutch pedal isn't. I can stretch out on long trips.
Enjoy!!:D

I don't know these days with modern technology whether an automatic 6-spd trans is so bad after all compared with a manual 6-spd trans.

I push the gas pedal to the floor and the computer and auto trans takes over vice the same car next to me with a 6-spd manual. The human being with the manual has to let off the gas a little, disengage/engage a clutch while manually shifting to another gear. I believe the computer and auto-trans doing the same at full rev speed may be more efficient at doing so than the human being. First time we've seen both a 6 speed auto and manual in the new Stang.

Thoughts?

All things considered, on a consistent basis I believe you are right. While the driver with the manual has to hit six shifts perfectly to get a great run, all you have to do is floor it and let the computer do the work.

Any arguent out here? An auto-trans is not the old lady's car like back in the day with computer driven shifting at full rev... So an auto might be the faster Stang off the block.

I agree. I think most of our relocations are automatics from the 70's and 80's.. at least mine are. From what I've heard, they have come a long, long way, even for American cars. I know for sure that an automatic would beat me down right now... I still can't learn how to shift this 3.73 as quickly as I need to.

Hooah, so we have one opinion, a human being might not be able to, in fact, shift faster than a computer can do. 5.0 technology with the 6-speed auto trans is an awesome thing.
