2011 GT popping out of reverse

So this problem started probably middle of last week, and over the previous week has just been getting worse and worse. Basically the car won't stay in reverse gear, it'll pop out half way, or pop out all the way.

It's pretty embarrassing, but aside from that, I'm thinking uh, 6th warranty fix on a car that only has 24,000km...

...great...

Anyone else have this problem?

6th fix? I would consider lemoning it then.

never...i had it pop out of first and second two times when i didnt fully engage it...good luck bud.
6 warranty fixes...gah I'm not shocked it has been in the shop 6 times...just that they acctually fixed 6 things..lol. But no mine has never popped out of gear..Aftermarket shifter???
I'm not having this problem, but I just looked at my stock shifter. It's in a box in the basement. The reverse lockout tab is made out of plastic. My Steeda Tri-Ax has a metal tab. I'm sure the other aftermarket shifters have a metal lockout tab also. The stock shifter and shifter bushing and bracket are the weakest links in the drivetrain. The tab is probably worn down to the point where it will not stay in the slot to keep it in reverse. I'm not a big modification proponent, but this mod is a must in my opinion.

It's the stock shifter. I've literally had it in for so many warranty issues I'm scared to do anything aftermarket to it.

Unfortunately there is no lemon law in Canada, otherwise I would have gone for it a long time ago.
Have them put in a new stock shifter. My bet is that they will find it worn enough to pop out of reverse.

I've had 7 fixes. I'm not lemoning. Where in the hell did you get that obscene logic?

See most people want their new cars to work and not drive a rental car more than the car they just paid tens of thousands for

Some people won't ever dare turn against their dear Ford..

I myself have had my car in the dealer over a full month and am now suing.

I just watned to follow up on this. Deysha got ford canada to connect with me, the dealer was a huge help in fixing the vehicle, and supplied a rental. Got the car back, it's running great. It's nice to see the social media team has extended their assistance to canadian customers.

Thank you so much Deysha! :winks
