So as i know a 2011-2012 mustang comes stock with 305hp and approxiametly 31 mpg. I have done my research and so far have learned that it has a bit more hp than that and a little under 30 mpg highway. I was just wondering what you guys thought i could get out of it with aftermarket parts, such as how much it would cost, how much hp/torque/and improved mpg i would get. What kind of parts would you recommend me getting? I know its a lot to ask but you guys seem to know everything bout Mustangs so thought you could help Thanks! Benjamins!

I moved this here to the late model V6 sections to get you some help.

Hey Ben,

These guys on here are really knowledgeable, so just stick around here and read and within a few weeks you'll be amazed at what you can pick up. There are some really good resources here on the forums for information about how you can make that V6 ridiculously fast on a budget.

You might want to also check out or 2011 V6 Project car series videos, where we built up a stock 2011 V6 in 4 different stages of modifications and dyno/track/street tested every round of mods. That car, has since been 11.90 @ 116mph, in a 5th round of modifications for 5.0 Mustangs & Super Fords magazine.

Thanks for your interest and i am hoping to get more information! Awesome videos to! thanks
So those videos really helped me out. I would for sure get the first stage and also an exhaust (obv). I would get the hash and side marks and maybe the control package but would have to wait for the hood. the rest i dont think is really needed. well i would love the supercharger but is expensive ^.^ thanks a lot! any more info can help!! such as brands? or other parts :) thanks!!
and thanks snackmaster! just seen u replied :p
Yeah I was going to say watch the Stage 1-4 videos and you get a feel for how you can approach it. The intake and tune make a big difference for the cost. The JLT sounds the best, the Airaid is built the best.

As you could see from the AM blog and videos there is plenty that can be done. Beyond what you have already set out to do, if you want more, then your next mod would be gears.
If you are concerned with MPG as your main priority, keep the stock gears. Changing the gears will only decrease your MPG, but give you more take off power with sticky tires. Also, the Automatic V6 gets 31MPG, while the manual gets 29MPG highway.

Other good mods that increase your MPG and HP: a tune, intake, lightweight drivetrain components, and exhaust. Yes, they increase both MPG and HP if you are nice on the throttle, but if you are a bit lead footed, the gas will go even faster than before the tune.

If you want a LOT of HP and decent gas mileage, a turbo/procharged V6 or a 5.0 is where it's at!

I would definitely go with this kit: Airaid Cold Air Intake and SF3 Tuner (11-12 V6) - Airaid || SCT 3015 || 450-265 which will include the Airaid cold air intake and the SCT/SF3 with free custom tunes for life. For the money, it is the best first modification you can do to your 2011 V6!

I hope this helps!

Please let me know if you have any questions in the future!
Ya im definetly not wanting to forget about the MPG. I want a bit more power and exhaust obviously to make it sounds great! Im wondering how much mpg i could get max on it though :p
