Sometimes, not every time, my iPhone starts playing music when I get out of the car.

Doesn't matter if the car audio was on or not.

Doesn't matter if the phone was connected to the dock or not.

Always starts the same song.

Nothing I can find in the iPhone seems to stop this from happening. I need to go in and 'pause' the song to stop the music.

Nothing I can find in the Sync settings keeps this from happening.

Deleting the phone completely will stop it but then can't make calls.

Suggestions?

My HTC Incredible did this as well, unfortunately I don't recall what I did to resolve this. =/

I think there was something in the car stereo set-up making it look for a bluetooth audio device in addition to the bluetooth phone.

I did finally get it fixed, but it was more than a year ago and just don't remember what it was exactly I did to stop the phone from playing the same song upon start-up.

While I hate SYNC's inability to correctly make voice calls off my iphone4 on the contact list copied from my iphone4, I have a flash drive plugged into the USB for tunes, and that seems to work without the problem you have mentioned. I copied my itunes list onto it.
I think SYNC STINKS.
Its GPS is a lot dumber than my Garmin's and its voice recognition cannot touch the iphone4's when I try to make a voice call.
I have to try to make the call before SYNC discovers me.
After I initiate the call, SYNC is OK in working the call.
