I decided to make a little build progress thread about my 2012 GT/CS. The car has the California Special Package, 3.73 gears, Glass Roof, Comfort package and the Electronics Package.

I have about 530mi on this car now, I put on the Corsa Extremes a couple weeks ago and now have decided to go FI. I have the Ford Racing 624hp Whipple supercharger on the way and should be at my inlaws house tomorrow. I also have the Barton Shifter, bracket and two Aeroforce Interceptor gauges on the way, should be here Friday.

I got my innovate wide band gauge, colder plugs for the s/c and Boss 302 Gauge pod in, all pics below. This will pretty much be the whole build for now, with suspension coming next in the future. Anyway here are some pics of what I have so far, I'll just update it every now and then as stuff progresses.

Only thing is I have to wait for the CARB certification to go through before I can get the S/C on/Pro-Cal tuner, so it may be a little while. A well know company called AED in Shingle Springs, CA is going to install the Blower and dyno it for me. Oh, and I'm getting my windows tinted tomorrow.

Also, I kinda had the nibble when shifting into 2nd gear first thing in the morning. I had the TSB done to put in the Double Clutch fluid yesterday and it made no difference this morning. This is just my opinion. I'm hoping the barton kit makes it better.......

The Barton bracket helps, amplifies tranny noise, but helps. Also get the CHE K-Member brace with torque limiters and get the poly ends (quieter and you don't need rod ends for DD, TRUST ME ON THIS ONE). This brace will keep the tranny still under tq, so you can make it into 3rd. Voice of experience here... Parting my car out and just sold mine, sorry. New they're like $159. On the Barton bracket, I called Barton direct and they give LEO and Military discounts.

You need my Weld RT/S wheels that are in the classified section. Sweet car BTW. I put the CS front end on my GT, almost first thing.

Sweet, she looks JUST LIKE MINE....

She is going to shift rough when its cold. Mine is undriveable in the winter essentially... It sucks but since Ford has no fix..i probably just wont drive it in the winter (rather than monkey with it).

Lastly.... 624hp on stock internals??? That sounds brave....

I commute to Vacaville on the 50 and 80 from around Shingle Springs four days a week so I'll keep an eye out for you...... If you notice a Grabber Blue GT with black stripes pacing next to you on 80 I don't want to race, I just wanna hear that super charger....! Regards

You have to think of it this way. 624hp is in excellent conditions with 93 octane to the crank. So realistically that is five hundred something to the wheels. Since I live in California and only have 91 octane available the tune will change up ignition timing, parameters etc and basically de-tune it to the fuel I am running. So I will probably only have around maybe 550hp to the wheels???

Cool, I like to have my license anyway, 80 isn't the best highway to open it up on! I always see CHP pulling people over on that highway.

I don't like red stripes over any color, but KB seems to be the worst color I could possibly imagine, other than maybe Grabber Blue or Blaze Yellow. IMO, the only color red stripes looks somewhat acceptable on is white. It's very subjective.

I agree. Half of the "OMG, look at my new exterior mod" threads are garish and make me want to vomit. Stripes, billet metal, gigantic wheels, louvers, bleh.

However, I don't dislike the notion of painting your brake calipers so long as the color is understated, e.g. black, silver, etc. Now if you're going with a color that stands out like bright red or yellow, then yeah, it's a bit ricey, IMO. But ultimately it's your car and you're making the payment on it - do whatever the hell you want.

On another note, I am returning the Innovate wide band and I'm going to run the boost and the A/F off of the two Aeroforce gauges. So I'm going to have to get another gauge to fill the boss pod. Not sure what to put in there yet.

Nice car. I think this is what I want to do when mine shows up. Probably do the roush or whipple.

If anyone tells me I should have bought a z06 instead of put a blower on my mustang they can KMA.

RXT McLeod twin disc with billet steel flywheel. I've run Mcleod Twin discs in other cars and they have always been exceptional. Got it from Lethal performance.

Just to clarify...money spent on a Mustang is never "sunk"...the correct term is invested. :bigthumbsup

I think "enjoyed" is a better choice than "invested"

That Said, OP keep us updated on your progress, as you have a similar setup as to what Im looking at.

Very sweet. There's a Ford Racing Whipple in my future, too. Printed off and read through the install instructions 2 nights ago...I think I can do it.

Plans for more rear rubber?

And thank-you for standing up for the rest of us, Grey. My Father met my Mom while stationed @ McClellan in '58. I poked holes in the Pacific 1/81-6/89, myself.

Well the supercharger came in, I just haven't gone to go pick it up yet. I/m planning on getting a Mc leod clutch put in first then I'll look at the rubber later. I still want the car to be a street car. It won't get drag radials or anything like that.

Isn't McClellan in Wyoming?

Good move on the clutch

Understand no drag radials but a wider print on the back, maybe 285ish, might be benificial. Myself I prefer a staggered set, w/at least 40mm difference to be noticable and worth the inability to rotate.

Already an increadible car, gonna be phenominal when install's done.

I looked into getting a used C6 Z06. Cheapest I could find was around $45k with 25-50k miles.

I got my 11 GT premium for $30k with 50 miles on it. I think the stang makes for a better DD and the new car feeling is great.

I have been in the military for 6 years. You can make a good amount of money in the military as long as you budget correctly. Of course couple deployments help to!

Good stuff man! It looks sick, keep us updated... Side note- Just saw you're up in fairfield! Do you see a lot of 5.0s in the bay? I've only seen two aside from my own, another white one and a yellow boss...
