I ordered a 2012 GT over three months ago and still have not received it. The dealer is teling me that Ford is having issues with a part from Japan. Has anyone else heard about this and what is the lead time for the part?
I work in the electronic assembly industry and I can tell you that ICs (integrated circuits) coming out of Japan have all, but stopped. I don't know specifically if that is what is effecting the FORD navi, but it would not suprise me. Sad part is there is a 99% possibilty that there is a replacement part available as well as made in the USA, but I bet FORD won't switch.
Did you do a search? There is a multi page thread about it in the talk section (where this should be, not trying to be a mod, just saying). Go to that one and you will see the Ford Customer Service person on the last post. PM her and she can help you figure it out.
