2012 GT with Shaker 500 - What Front 5x8s to purchase>>>

I have read some of the longer threads with install hints and semblances of recommendations, however, I am looking for candid feedback from people who have changed these front speakers only.

I am looking for more punch and umph like my 2007 with the same stereo had.

Heading into Toronto tomorrow to make a purchase to install on Thursday. Please list your recommendation(s), brand and part number, and your impressions (ie. need to run the stereo louder but sound is more clear with deeper mids, etc.)

You can see from my signature that I installed JL Audio C2-570X's. As you stated, I just replaced the front speakers and the difference in clarity and SMOOTH high end is night and day. IMO, JL Audio owns in the "affordable" aftermarket speaker world. However, I'm sure you'll hear a lot of opinions and biases that may make your discussion that much more difficult! I can definitely say that if you go the JL route, you will not be disappointed. Check out Amazon.com - they can be had for ~$100/pair.

BTW - the thread below should address most, if not all, of your questions. In fact, I just roamed around that thread and made my decision from everyone's experiences and opinions.
