Yes they work. Plenty of guys have done it already. You need the mounting bracket also. If you do make the swap, let us know what you think. I've been eyeballing this also.

I've been eyeballing this also.I need to do something about a brake upgrade soon. I would love to drop 800 on gt500 takeoff but not possible with all the money already going into my car. So i started looking at the 2012 and 2013 gt takeoff from roush. You can get rotors calipers and pads for 150. Rotors are 13.5 to my 12 or 12.5. Question is would those fit on a 08. Or are the calipers the same as mine. If so i can just grab rotors anywhere and it would be cheap. A extra inch on the rotors isn't much of a upgrade but would still help me at this point.

Rotors and calipers are easy to find but the brackets are not... I wonder if napa would be the place to get themYes they work. Plenty of guys have done it already. You need the mounting bracket also. If you do make the swap, let us know what you think. I've been eyeballing this also.
Btw thanks for that!Hammerdown did a thread on that. It was super cheap. The thread had instructions and part numbers to use 2011's larger rotors. Here, try this http://www.allfordmustangs.com/foru...mans-almost-big-brake-kit-part-2-verdict.html
So we can assume that the 2011 2012 rear setup would also be a slight upgradeYes they work. Plenty of guys have done it already. You need the mounting bracket also. If you do make the swap, let us know what you think. I've been eyeballing this also.
Yeah but they cool quicker too....more surface area. Knowing that, I wouldn't change your recommendation except maybe to add better brake fluid.Big brakes are only an advantage untill they get hot. Then they perform like smaller brakes (for the most part). The key is to keep them cool.
That would be covered by "the most part" section in my post smarta$$.Yeah but they cool quicker too....more surface area.
I like the idea of the 2012 setup with cooling ducts but they charge way too much for some metal and plastic tubing... Im going to look for a way to make my own. I know a few guys that are good with metalBest brake upgrade you can do and is cheap is to put some Stop Tech Street Performance pads in and run some brake cooling ducts.

What do u.recommend for a fluid?Yeah but they cool quicker too....more surface area. Knowing that, I wouldn't change your recommendation except maybe to add better brake fluid.
If you run a track day they will seem cheap.:bigthumbsupI like the idea of the 2012 setup with cooling ducts but they charge way too much for some metal and plastic tubing... Im going to look for a way to make my own.
Mine are custom.......and were a HUGE PITA! I wish there had been a kit that I liked. It would have been easier to buy some, LOL!:hihi:I know a few guys that are good with metal![]()
Jackpot! Check out the Stoptech pads for those before you put them on. They are a great street/track pad and don't cost much at all.i just grabbed a 2012 setup with pads calipers rotors and brackets.for 100.

Im embarrassed to say i don't have any good tracks... Well there is one that they do a spectators drag (on a oval) but the local hilbillies are know for ramming ppl to win... Nothing i will be doingIf you run a track day they will seem cheap.:bigthumbsup

If you're not going to have a chance to get it on the track then don't worry about ducts then. And just run regular DOT 4 brake fluid. You have to change the race fluid more often and its only advantage is it will stand up to higher heat which you won't generate on the street.Im embarrassed to say i don't have any good tracks...
