Nope. This isn't the 90's anymore, the cheapest superchargers are centrifugal types(Paxton/Vortech, Procharger) and are in the $5,500 range for a complete kit. FRPP uses Whipple PD blowers and are $6,000 and up. Roush TVS are also $6,000 and up.
i can't really guesstimate the resale in 4 years, as that depends entirely on how much care you take of the car and your maintenance being documentedDo you think that the price of 40k(out of the door, 36,600 base price) is a good price for a 2013 GT premium convertible (manual trans, includes 1,000 dollar package)? I am not getting any maintenance free deals or anything else.
Also, what could be the resale value in 4 years? What could be the maintenance charges?
Please let me know! Your insight would be extremely appreciated!
You already made your own thread . Don't come and rob someone else's that's pretty rude. i just realized that i put this in the talk forum and not tech... sorry mods
I have looked at this quite a bit. I think you will find that neither Ford or FRPP make a supercharger designed to be installed in an automatic GT. As far as I know, only Roush offers a supercharger with a calibration for the "Coyote engine" to be used with the automatic transmission. Roush does offer a "third party" engine drivetrain warranty, but I don't know much about it. I would be interested to know if anyone else has found a FORD/FRPP supercharger that is designed (With tune) for a GT auto?Hey guys... Just upgraded from 2007 v6 to 2013 gt (auto) and am looking for possible superchargers... the guy at the dealership said that if i went ford brand it wouldn't void my warranty, so that's what i am hoping to find
all the ones on fordracingparts.com that i saw were 6k+... i was looking for something more around 3000-3500.. anybody know if there's another place to buy ford-branded SC's for around that price?
thanks for any help
roush has a 3year 36k...fords is only 1 year 12k (for the 525 kit)...or at least thats what it says on their site, i almsot pulled the trigger until i read that...AFAIK the only way to keep the warranty with that ford racing supercharger is to bring the receipt with the item that was purchased from a Ford Racing Authorized Retailer to a Ford Racing Authorized Dealership, and you have to allow the dealership to do the install and tunes, and then you get the Ford Racing warranty, which is 36k/3 years miles, from the time you started the original cars warranty, so if you had 12k miles when you installed it, you only have 24k miles of supercharged warranty.
what? why would it matter what transmission any forced induction is on? please elaborate?I have looked at this quite a bit. I don't know the answer to your question. I spoke to the folks out at Shelby about a supercharged auto and they said no...and intimated that Ford prevented them from doing it under their relationship. I think if you read all the supercharger writeups from Ford/FRPP and Shelby that you will not find one that they sell for the auto transmission GT - only Roush. If someone has found one from Ford/FRPP or Shelby, for the auto with a calibration, I sure would like them to point it out.what? why would it matter what transmission any forced induction is on? please elaborate?

super good info...My Roush SC was installed at the time of purchase by my FRPP dealer. When the contract was cut on a Sunday night the service manager wasn't there to oversee the technical side of the deal. I ended up getting away with murder. The salesman thought that Ford made a SC for automatics and cut the deal as such. Instead I ended up with a Roush and, because I made sure to have it written on my contract, they kept all warranties.
The 1 yr portion of the warranty is for the blower and assembly pieces. The engine still retains the original manufacturers 3/36 warranty as long as FRPP techs do the install.
From what I understand Ford originally sold an auto supercharger kit but then stopped selling it. The service manager told me why they stopped... but I have completely forgotten, sorry. It wasn't a physical problem so don't worry about the mechanical side.
However, the ECU calibration controls the auto as well as the engine. Since Ford's tune doesn't have the auto programming, you can't use their tune on a Coyote with an auto trans. Of course if you are an expert tuner, no problem......Like Roush:winks Actually, many of the Ford dealers that sell FRPP parts have a contract with Roush to install the Roush superchargers, as well as the Roush dealers.super good info...
ok, if they didnt sell for other reasons but had nothing to do with the car, thats one thing...but a blower on a motor is a blower on a motor regardless of type of tranny...so components might be slightly different but it should run any different and should worknjust fine...unless when they stopped the auto tranny's couldnt handle the power, which is fine, but thats specfic and shouldnt be a global statement of a pd blower should not be used on an auto...
