Well last night I got to test drove a screaming orange 2013 focus ST! It was the base ST1 package with he moonroof option. Let me first say, what a friggen blast to drive. Made the V6 Stanford I drove seem real sluggish. The car is ultra refined even in base trim. Makes the base mustang interior look 10-15 years dated. When I brought this up to the sales Guy (same.one I yeses mustangs with) he told me that its been confirmed that the 2014's will get a completely overhauled interior. The base focus had the 6" infotainment display as well as a big screen between the gauges. @$23k base price if I wasn't addicted to that 5.0 pur I would be putting my order in now. Really has me thinking about waiting till the 2014's come out before ordering the 5.0.

Thoughts?

I doubt that the 14's will get an overhauled interior considering the 15's are right around the corner. It wouldn't really make any sense for ford to do that.

So I wouldn't let that hold you back from ordering a 13, if you waited to order a 14 you'd hear all the new things about the 15. It would be a never ending cycle.

Well, look at the 2010's! They overhauled the entire car but the drivetrain before the 5.0 came in it.

My roomie was looking at getting the turbo'd Kia Optima with just under 300hp, but I strongly urged him to wait to test drive an ST and then make his mind up! I will give him a shout today to be on the look for an ST to test drive now. Thanks for the update. I almost wish I waited to get an ST than my 3.7L... ALMOST ;)

So funny u mention the Optima. Hit kia on my way home since the 2011+ Optima SX has been on my maybe list and looks too good to be true on paper....well it was. Granted it has a sweet interior and pretty much every option that u get in a mustang with premium + comfort + navigation + electronics + cold weather all in one and then some but the car not only felt slow and heavy, the auto granny sucked, and there steering felt very synthetic? As in no road feel. I floored it from a dig, did a few rolls on and it was VERY undewhelming for a 275hp FI engine.

If your friend likes to DRIVE. He's going home with an ST. Like an oversized gokart and I didn't even get to play with torque vectoring really.

Information on the 14's are already coming out. The 14 will be the same as the 13, interior and exterior. You salesman was wrong, just like every other salesman.

Depending on how they do on the '15, I may end up with a '14 5.0.

You know... If the '15 isn't complete Eurotrash.

I have $14.87 that says the 2015 Mustang will be as American as ever and will put some silly smiles on everyone who drives one.:bigthumbsup

The salesman probably got mixed up, Fusion, Mustang, all the same, right? Or to his mind "totally revised" might mean new seat insert colors. Seriously, anyone on this board armed with nothing more than a brochure and a link to Ford.com knows 100 times as much as 99% of the salesman out there.

PS I am not talking about the dealership I bought my car from but I am talking about the dealership that I didn't buy my car from. :D

Why does everyone have to hate the salesman???? Can't we stay focused on the incompetent service techs? Or the unable to find any TSB service writers? Or the over charging in interest Finance Managers???

Indeed, or the Finance Director guy here that sent 5 Mustang brochures to forum members as a goodwill measure, and let customers check out his personal '11 Cal Special when it arrived.
Yeah, we're all bad....
:nono:
Salesmen have to take TONS of tests to be certified to sell the products. Our salesmen have 60 days from hire to be certified. Some retain more than others, and some are more gear headed than others(I was).
Remember-You're a Mustang enthusiast, so you'll know more about one model, than the guy who has to remember something about F-150's, Explorers, Fusions, etc.
:cooldude:

There's some that are in it for the short term, and will say what they can to make a quick sale, but I wouldn't make a gross generalization that all sales/finance/service employees are bad.
Looking at the forums, you'd think every manual Mustang was on a lift waiting for a new trans, or a new motor from a bad #8 cylinder too.
:bigthumbsup
On topic- The ST is a hoot, may pick one up as a DD when the house is finished in the spring.
'14 will likely be a short run model year, as the world awaits the arrival of the new '15.

I'm all good, I took a break from the Mustangs for a while, had a C6, and a Viper as toys, now I'm down to one car while I'm getting a house built.
:)
All bets are off after spring time, and I've spent a gazillion $$ for blinds, furniture, and whatever else my girl wants, LOL.

Me too, but I'm down to the 5.0 and the F250. Gonna have a dedicated Mustang garage and a Pole Barn out back in addition to the attached 2 car.

Just a little background sam, I'm one of those salesmen that hates taking a deal back to F&I unless I left you guys at least a 50$ buffer:gringreen..... In other words, I got your back dog:bigthumbsup...

EDIT: and damn, it was a 2 year mustang break, welcome back...
