Bought a 2017 base model GT about 6 weeks ago. Had hoped my truck would make it another year and would have bought the GT Premium, but you can't always get what you want. Anyway, I'm not planning any mods. I run 93 octane most of the time, but occasionally 91. Is it worth my money to get a tune? Is a custom tune at a local place (Nashville, TN) worth additional money vs. something from American Muscle (Bama, VMP, etc.)?

I'm not concerned about hp gains. This is my DD and I'm very happy with it as it. However, if a tune will make a significant difference in how well the car runs, mpg, etc. I'd like to know and make the change.

Any and all comments are appreciated! This is my first post, but I've read many here. I'm sure these questions have been covered before so my apologies, but I couldn't find those previous posts.

The purpose of a tune is to lift the safety nets programmed from the factory to enhance the driving experience when racing/driving hard. If you aren't modding the car and you're happy with the stock power level, there's no need to spend the money on a mail tune, let alone a custom dyno tune.

MPG with a performance tune will not change. If anything it will go down from having a richer mixture to take advantage of any modifications that increase airflow through the engine.
