2023 GT ordered

So lets discuss the 2023’s. I have read the posts on 2022’s and time lines. Seems the black accent package slowed up those builds. I ordered that on my 23. Chips are not in that short supply any more. I expect this will be a short run year so hopefully they get them pushed out. I know they started 11/28 building them.
My order: Rapid red with showstopper red interior. Premium 401a with B&O sound and black accent package now called Nite Pony. If I can do a 4 month wait I think it will be a win. Ordered it 8 November. Wish me luck.
Any other 23 builds on here?

Chips are not in that short supply any more.
Unfortunately, they still are in short supply. It's not quite as bad as it was at its peak about a year ago but there's still a heavy backlog. Spare modules either aren't being made or have a very long wait time for them to be made even for cars that are only a couple of years old. Ford and other manufacturers are also still parking fresh off the assembly line incomplete vehicles by the thousands due to modules being unavailable even for new cars.
It's not even just chips for modules that's the problem. Some non electronic parts are also on backorder or unavailable. Parts come from all over the world but many come from china and they're doing their zero Covid policy. This has caused a major slowdown of manufacturing and those ramifications can be seen in all kinds of industries.
I would realistically expect a wait of at least 4 months and maybe up to 6 since you have even more options in the car. I recall there was one member that waited for 10 months that just got his car recently maybe like 2 months ago but this was definitely not the typical wait.
I hope that you get your car sooner than later but I would definitely guess that a red interior, premium sound system, and a black out package will delay your order somewhat longer than a typical GT Premium. Hopefully, it's not much longer than a standard wait. In any case, when you do finally get it you'll savor the moment even more when you first lay your eyes on it. Red with a red/black interior will be quite eye catching.

Good luck! That will be an excruciatingly long wait, but also a fun wait for the big prize coming at the end!

I hope it is closer to the 4 months but I would rather wait and get what I really want. By this time next year the wait will be a memory either way.

I've ordered my '23 GT back in September but the order was placed in November by the dealer ... white with the Ice White package. Dealer called sometime in December saying it will be on the production line the second week of February 2023.
Does anyone know why it does not get the roll bar across the engine while other GTs do?

It's called a strut bar/brace. It gives structural rigidity and reinforcement to the front of the body/chassis. A roll bar goes in the passenger compartment and protects you in the event of a roll over.
I believe the standard GT comes with no brace since you have to buy the Performance Package or the 20" wheels to get the brace on an S550(2015+) GT from the factory. The Ice White Package is just an appearance package and isn't a handling/performance type of package so you don't get one.
You can simply buy the brace and add it afterwards. Ford Racing sells it and it comes with the cowl brace as well: Ford Performance M-20201-MA Mustang Strut Tower Brace 2015-2022 (cjponyparts.com)
There are also some less good looking ones available in the aftermarket. Avoid the SR brand. SR = poor quality.

Thank you for the clarification. I was just curious. My old '96 GT did come with the brace. I'll definitely get one, thanks for the info.

One more "naive" question, are the bodies of Mustangs rustproofed somehow, does the factory dip them in any chemical for rustproofing?
I believe all the bodies of everything these days are dipped in a tank to coat every surface of the sheetmetal after they're welded together. I'm pretty sure it's an epoxy primer coating and some other separate body panels and parts will get a sprayed electrocoat(E-coat). I think that this has been standard practice for at least 15 years.
I remember seeing a video of the factory process once a few years ago.

Again thank you for the info and Happy Holidays!

I don`t know if it`s still the case, but as far as I know all the convertible GT`s came with the strut tower brace. Mine did.

Four months isn't that long at all. Congratulations!
So after 4 months it looked like I was not going to get a build date. We called the dealer a couple weeks after I month after I got the 90 day "we still have your order" spam email and asked that they get information. They said they couldn't so we canceled the order. I was bummed but we then started to look for a 2023 somewhere between FL and TX including TN and GA. We found one in TX that was sent to the dealer as a display for the Houston Rodeo. They had to get permission from Ford to sell it as they were not actually the recipient but the conduit for the rodeo. Ford agreed and after a week of back and forth I flew to Houston a week ago last Friday and drove it back to Biloxi. Got it ceramic coated last week. It is a blast to drive. Here are a couple pics.

Congratulations, nice car. It used to be so easy to get a new Mustang. It’s unbelievable how difficult it has become.
Nice car! Congrats.

Idk what happened in your case but I would suspect your dealer was the problem. You had placed your original order on Nov 8 but people have been posting about ordering and receiving their cars in that 4 month time. You should have gotten a build date not long after so I think your dealer dropped the ball.
In any case, the car that you bought is awesome. Driving it home from TX just makes it a better memory.

Could be the dealer but I was able to get in touch with Ford Performance several times and they looked up the order and I got “clean build, no scheduled date” each time. They did say if the dealer didn’t have an allocation to put the order against it would go to the bottom of the pile and get built if there was time. The dealer assured me they had allocations and put my order against one. Was that true? Don’t know but I don’t trust car dealers so very possible. In any case like what I got better than my order so it all worked out. I have options for other Ford dealers in the area for future service etc and will choose one of them for needs.
