i have a 289 with a C4 tranny still bolted together at my disposal. it came out of a 70's ford galaxy with 40000 miles, all original. i know this is a 5.0 form but i don't know where else to ask these questions. i have an 1987 mustang lx. it has a 2.3l with an automatic transmission. anybody done this swap before?

289 is basicly a 302/5.0 with a slightly shorter stroke, and less meat for piston skirts.
theres not much thats changed atall externally, if u have everything for the running engine, alot of people suggest upgrading breaks/suspension/rear to handle a heavier weight and more torque/hp.

Should be just a 2.4L to 5.0 conversion for a 5.0, guide laying around that be perfect, and C4 same?

I dont deal much with foxbodies but I think just with ur motor and tranny already ready to go shouldnt be much trouble.

thats what i was thinking. i'm going to do a gasket job and put a cam kit in it before i drop it in. should i be able to use a 5.0 driveshaft to an 8.8 rear end?
