3.8L 1995 Mustang--Need to replace engine and need suggestions!
The crankshaft in the motor is pretty much shot in the butt and I've already replaced the timing chain and got new valves, so I'm looking into just replacing the entire engine. What would you suggest, other than the engine I currently have (I haven't been able to find another of the same one!) I got an offer for an '88 Mercury Cougar engine, but I'm wondering if a bigger engine (maybe a V8?) from another Mustang would work instead. Would I have to update a lot of other parts for this to work? Let me know what you think! Thanks in advance! :happydance:

to make a v8 work in your 95 car you would basically need everything from the v8 car. engine, wiring harness, ect, ect. It gets costly trying to find all the parts and pieces needed for the swap unless you have a donor car laying around. the rear end would be fine, as proven by my father the 7.5 rear can take quite a beating. I think just swappin another v6 in would be your best bet!
