Good info .
Think we found the problem, removed the fuel filter, pump runs but no fuel is coming out so I quess the pump is not pumping even tho it runs for a couple of seconds after the key is turned on :?: :?: Is this possible :?:
My new ride!

so i just got myself a 2002 mustang v6. it is manual and i am looking for some added horsepower and torque for my car. I want to know what options would be best. Since i am only 16, price is a factor so i need some cheaper options to start w/. thanks

cheapest is a K&N drop in filter.

Only goes uphill from there . ..
Hay you could also get some under-drive pullys, cold air intake from Ebay from $50-$70. And next time you change your oil use Royal Purple oil and it is proven in the Dyno that when used together with there transmission oil you could get 7-11 HP gains.

those E-bay cheap cold air kits aren't worth any more hp than a drop in.

If you use full synthetic, the costs increase -but you will pick up 2-3 hp and increase the longevity of the drivetrain.

Well man, I got myself a 1995 V6 recently. Had the same question. Thing is, get a K&N filter. And some stainless freeflows. Dual system works good. U can get it cheap, plus u'll feel the diff in power. consumptions better aswell.
yea all you will need is a drop in filter since its a 95... it does not flow for more then that...
cold air, pullys, and high flow exhaust.
what about one of those cheaper speed chips off ebay for around $20-40 that claim to give you extra hp? heard they might be bad for your engine?

they just trick the computer - they can damage your engine.

It's better to reprogram the mapping tables themselves rather than trick them -when you need an adjustment, the computer will be unable to make the adjustment.

the 5-7 hp isn't worth the damage. pick up a K&N filter instead.
I applaude the concise torque tables for the different years, but why does everyone think that the 3.8 V6 just started in 1994???

what about 1983 to 1986???
My "01" Mustang is Running 2 HOT

Hey everyone! I just purchased a 2001 Mustang V6 3.8L used. It seems to be a little sluggish at times. Like on general takeoff. Then getting up to 40 MPH, seems like a struggle. Even shakes a lil bit getting up to 40 MPH...Could that mean a Tune Up is needed? Also, It's throwing off an AWFUL lot of heat. Like I can feel the heat from the engine all in the car. The gauges read at half way between hot and cool but its so hot, that I think its even affecting the radio. Like, The radio is hot to touch and the radio starts sounding like its shorting out, loseing volume and sounding distorted. HELP!!! How do I get my BABY running right?

i have a 97 v6 to but does any one now what the top speed is on them and if i take off the limter how fast could i go i heard of a round 130 when the fuel injeters max out at when i got my car it run hot to i change the oil and shifted at 4000 all the time and now it is fine no more heat oil came out nasty as hell big time oil changed needed

130-136, more or less, depending on gearing.
raising or removing top speed limiter on a 97 v6 dont now what one to do? no mods "yet" think to get a cold air, duel pipes ,underpullys, and could that give better top speed if i rasied or remove the limter?
Torque Specs

Ford Torque Specs Leave A Lot To Be Desired!! If I Was Putting On Head Gaskets[a Problem For The 3.8's], I Would Get A Stud Kit From Summit And Use The Torque Setting For The Supercharged Model, which I Think Is @ 70 Lbs.. Those Torque To Yeild Bolts Can Only Be Used Once And Do Not Have The Clamping Force Of A Stud!!! Also To Get More Horse Power You Really Have To Change Cams.. Hosepower Is Derived In R.p.m's That Means You Are Going To Have To Get A Computer Progam That Will Get The Job Done, Ignore Low End Reversion And ,change Your Fuel Mixand, Eliminate Any Top End Restriction...you Get What You Pay For.. Or You Could Put A 4.56 Gear And Use All The Pones You Have Now.. Good Luck
Hey I have 97 3.8 mustang

in first gear it's not goes more than 2 rpm=( i thinks its supost to be like that . but what i can do to make it higher? please help! .

A drop in K&N will only give you 1 or 2 HP nothing youd be able to feel...a cold air intake would help a little but if you find the means i suggest putting in the cold air intake and a full exhaust and then you should notice a good diff
