I purchased a fully machined 302 roller block but i am having trouble identifying the exact year of it
on the angular face at the rear right is cast what looks like
F1CE BB or FICE BB The "C" could Be a D as its not very clear.

also just behind that on the edge is cast 9D16
which i assume is x9 April 16 but what decade would it be 89 or 99

stamped on the block at the front of the oil pan is 1352118 if that helps

can anyone tell me the year it was made ?
I have heard that the F1 means 91 but doesnt that conflict with the 9D16

THANKS

F1SE = originally engineered for 1991 Thunderbird
9D16 = cast on April 16, 1999

"Originally engineered for" does not mean that's the year, make, and model that the block is from. Ford shares blocks across many lines/models. For example, 1987-90 Mustangs had an E7TE block (engineered for 1987 truck) and 1991-95 Mustangs had an F1SE block.

The only passenger vehicles that had a 302 block in 1999 were the Explorer and Mountaineer.

Look on the flat pad behind the lifter valley for a partial VIN (eight characters).
