Hi all!!

My son and I just aquired a 64 1/2 6cyl Mustang. It came with a 302 eng#E3AE-6015-BA. I think it is a 1980 302? and Im not sure what tranny is attached but the firewall and floor board is cut out to accomadate this set up. The motor and tranny came sitting in the engine compartment no motor mounts or tranny mounts. We would like to turn this car into a v8 car. I know we will need to change the steering, rearend front coils and other things. Is there a complete guide on what we will need to make the changes?

Thanks

The cheapest safe way to do the front is index.html you'll still need stiffer front springs v8 steering linkage 8 inch rear end v8 radiator and few other small things. You shouldn't have to cut anything to get a 302 and normal tranny in a early mustang only tranny i know you have to is the t56 its a 6 speed stick.

Hello.:) I'm pretty sure that the motor you have is a 351W from an 83/84 Crown Vic. I'm not certain, but pretty sure. I'll check on that.:) Even with that being a 351, you shouldn't have to hack anything up to get it into the car. You'll need to swap out all of the steering and get the right motor mounts, but it isn't a big deal. You should also get rid of that ridiculous integral carrier rear axle assembly and go with an 8 inch or 9 inch rear end.:)

" . . . . the firewall and floor board is cut out to accomadate this set up . . . "

Spend some time on the replacement of the body parts that were removed. Think . . . . "unit-body structure"!!
