302 Short Block - Where to look for One

634 Views 9 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Fishrmn703
I was hoping to get your thoughts on good places or sites to pick up a 302 block or short block. Also your opinion on whether it is better to by a new short block, or just rebuild a used one?

Thanks

As I have never built an engine before I might be misinformed, but for what I want, I think the A4 might be overkill??? I really am only aiming for ~350 HP - So a cheaper block may suit me. I don't plan on racing the car too often, if at all. Another question I should ask then is what are the main differences in the different 302 blocks... R-blocks, A4, and so on? I can use all the help I can get :)

Thanks
if you have the skills & time rebuilt it yourself......

If not give these guys a call......

Very nice site! Thanks. This seems like a reputable place. A couple other questions I have are:

1.) When they say "Seasoned Block," does this mean a reconditioned stock Ford Product or are these Non-Ford Aftermarket Products?

2.) What are World blocks or Dart Blocks in comparison to the Ford Products?

Thanks
Great sites! Thanks Guys.
