I have an 83 302 block and I can get a set of heads off an 84 351 4 BBL HO at a local junk yard. Any know if this will fit? Looks like it should fit, but I don't want to pull them, get them home, and find out it won't work.

yeah they'll fit,but you'll need special 1/2" to 7/16" stepped headbolts

351w uses 1/2" bolts,and the heads will have 1/2" diameter bolt holes drrilled thru
302 uses 7/16" bolts

also,just cuz they're on a 351 doesnt mean they're any better than the E7's from your 302..what heads are they?

Yes, they will fit. It'll be like a "poor man's" BOSS motor. The 69-70 BOSS engines were 302's w/ 351 heads, albeit they were Cleveland heads. I would have them redone before putting them on from a J/Y. The only diff between a 302 and 351 windsor is the deck height. Intake is diff also for that reason.

They appear to be the stock heads from the 84 351. I had read this is basically the boss 302 set up. If you're asking if they're windsor or cleveland I don't think i can tell utill I take them off. Not sure what they offered in 84.

Excellent advice. Definitely check out exactly what heads they are, just because they are off a 351 does not mean they are better. '90s 351Ws just used E7TEs as well.

It's not a 335-series motor (Cleveland), the last year for those was '75. Do your research well before investing any time or money into them. I don't recall ever hearing of any good heads produced in the '80s.

351 heads are a waste unless you put $ into them and they still arent the best option. You can use stepped head bolts or the bushing kits.

Cleveland heads have canted valves, the intake and the exhaust valves are at different angles. If you take the valve cover off you can tell what they are or are not.
