just wondering if any body has swaped a 351w into a 2005+ gt or if it can be done, any ideas are welcome. thanks

Sure it can. You will need to run a stand-alone controller for fuel injection or go carbuerated. People have put 427 side-oilers in thses cars and it fit fine.

There's nothing that can't be put in these car. Weather it's practical is altogether different

Putting an old push rod 351w into a S197 is like replacing your 60" flat screen LCD with a 35mm projector and a pull down screen, but hey, whatever turns your crank!

All kidding aside, unless you are making a stripped out track car out of your S197, you are just pissing in the wind. The challenge you get has no reward at the end.. you now have a technologically inferior power plant in your car, one that doesn't interface with the computer, meaning issues, issues, and more issues. Save your money and throw a supercharger on.. probably cost less in the end and you will have more power.. save the 351w for something pre 1995..

Yeah, mod the mod motor (pun intended) for now. When it blows, shove a big cubic inch Windsor in it. 600 naturally aspirated horsepower and a pushrod soundtrack would be cool.
