I have a 98 Cobra. I just recently put a 96 cobra engine in it. When I first start it, it makes a pretty solid ticking noise and idles a little rough for a few seconds. Sometimes when it starts it doesn't jump right off it starts and coms up to an idle slowly. Another problem is when I am driving and I pull up to a light it idles high and slowly comes down. Sometimes I have to tap the gas pedal to get it to come down. I have another 98 Cobra that pops right off at start up doesn't tick and idles correctly. This is what i am using for comparison. Looking for suggestions.

Could be a valve problem or a injector problem making the tick sound. Also try cleaning your IAC and MAF for the idle problem.
