4 point harness help?

hey guys i have learned that almost everyone on here but me are like geniuses so im looking from help from the pros. i wanna know that if i buy a 4 point harness seat belt for my 2001 mustang am i going to need the aftermarket racing seats... or can i use the stock seats that are already in there. if so would installing them be more difficult? or even worth it?

you dont NEED seats. where to attach the harness to is the next question to be answered.

Without a proper roll cage, there is nowhere to attach the 4th point safely.

i think they sell a bar that goes across the car for a harness if you dont have a full cage.

And where would a bar like this mount to? You have to have a proper roll bar to have a mounting point for a 4 point harness. I've seen where they put the other mount in the floor, but that also makes the strap very long.

Any way you look at it, you need a proper 6 point roll cage for the strength to ensue the 4 point belt is mounted properly and safely.

actually i found what i was thinking of, it mounts to the body just behind the door.

wow! :surprised thats a lot of work for seat belts! i think ill just keep my stock one... i just like the 4 points.. but its just a daily driver car. thanks you everyone for your help :bigthumbsup
