Hello, i currently have a 1988 5.0 and noticed that my head lights would blink as soon as i would put my fog lights on. Im sure its a short somewhere, but thought id put this up incase it may be like the voltage regulator or something going wrong. So when i drive and have my headlights on as well as my fog lights, my lights would turn off, then on, off, then on,... pretty consistantly ... any ideas why?????

As soon as i turn off my fog lights, my head lights turn back to normal and stay on. HELP!!! i hate electrical issues. .. . .!!!!

I'll assume you have the GT which came stock with fog lights. The head light circuit is designed so you cannot have both the hi-beams and the fog lights on.

When the lights momentarily blink, you are witnessing something similar to when you place a switch in the middle of its travel, and the light turns off. This is expected behavior.

Your other problem appears to be circuit breaker related. When the circuit breaker heats up to a certain point, it trips, then cools off. Once it cools, it will automatically turn back on, and the heating cycle begins again.

You could be lucky and have a bad circuit breaker which is easy to replace. Or you could have a short. Circuit breakers are not expensive, so you might want to replace that and hope for the best. If the new one does the same thing, you'll have to trace the circuit and find the short. OR you can run a new wire.

Finally, the head light switch or the fog light switch could be bad, but in your situation this is the least likely cause, even though they are known to not be very robust.

Not sure what this guy ^^^^ is talking about. Any fox with fog lights has to be rewired because the factory wiring is insufficient to handle the load. You will need to pull your switch and inspect the wiring which is probably going to need replaced. Then you need to rewire according to the "fog light fix" in the search
