I am looking for a camshaft for a '97 Explorer 5.0 with the GT40P heads and staying with the EFI with mass air, going into a '87 ragtop. The goal is decent power and good streetability. All recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks,

Comp Cams also has about 4 cams that would go right in there.

I have this cam with Explorer heads and intake on the stock block. Enough lope at idle to know you don't have the stock cam, but not too much. I bought the car this way and it is my first Mustang, but it sure feels great in the performance dept. :bigthumbsup

if you're keeping the speed density EEC, you must be careful with cam selection. The E cam is not a good choice. A Comp Cams XE264 #35-349-8 or a Crower 15510 are cams that will allow a good idle and power with SD.
