5.0 Casting Number
I'm new at this forum. I'm sure this has been asked many times. I just arrived at this point so please suffer my question.
My 5.0 engine has a code of E7TECA 06K13. I am sure it is not the original engine. Would this engine have a roller cam? Of course I could remove the intake and find out but maybe this casting number and help from this forum will keep me from going to all that trouble. Finding out anything about a Ford engine by the casting number is tough for an old guy! Many Thanks

It probably has a roller cam in it. One easy way to check is to pull the distributor and see what kind of gear it has on the end.
Steel gear - roller cam
Cast iron gear- non-roller cam
Steel gear - roller cam
Cast iron gear- non-roller cam
6K13 = October 13, 1986 (1987 model year)
Here are my numbers i am looking to find out what this motor is! E89E-6015-AO. Just wonderin what this motor is and what is might have came from THANKS
