for my 99 v6 it calls for a 65 mm throttle body for a performance upgrade. could i use any 65 mm ford throttle body and will i get the same performance out of a stock 65 mm or a aftermarket 65mm?

welcome to the forums:bigthumbsup (always nice to see someone from the boston area)

anyways to your question, you should get the same performance, the thing about throttle bodies is they dont really add as much hp as they advertise with the new edge v6s. the reason for this is that the stock throttle body is 65mm.
with the aftermarket you will make an extra 2-5hp at most. the big thing about the throttlebodies that makes them popular is they adjust the throttle response of the car.
hope this helps

in fact most people recommend not to get a new throttle body unless something is wrong with the one you have now, or you go forced induction turbo, super etc

ive said something like this before but ill repeat myself.. throttle bodies and throttle body spacers are just overly expensive paperweights
