Hello every people. So I've got this 65 Mustang coupe that I'm doing a a complete resto on. I'm wantng to do a few things to it that I'm hoping to get some feedback on. Here goes:
1.) Chop the top 2". Enough for people notice and be different but not so much it's gawdy.
2.) Lower the car about 1".
3.) Ram air hood, E2 front valance, E2 side scoops, billet grilles, Shelby "ducktail" decklid, 1.25" fender flares.
4.) As for colour, I was thinking of going with competition orange only adding in a metal flake. Interior would have a matching orange dash & roll cage, upholstery would be black w. orange stitching, and ofcourse your typical chrome accents.
Okay now a question would be, what's the biggest rim that can fit on one of these things? I was thinking of going with the Boyd Coddington Magneato's, 17x8 up front and 18x8 out back.
What do ya'll think?
Also! Incase anyone was wondering, I decided to NOT go with a Mustang II front end or a 460. I decided that a 408ci stroker would be the best way to go along with some aftermarket stock style suspension. Anyone know of some good springs to use? I want this car to launch great on the strip, comfortability on the street isn't an issue as it is a hot rod right? Lakewood 90/10 struts and 50/50 shocks I think might be a good addition...
Anyways let me hear what you guys think.
