'66 Door lock cylinder issue

Hey guys,

I'm having an issue with the driver-side door lock in my '66. When I go to lock/unlock the door, the lock cylinder will spin semi-freely. When I hold the outside of the lock, the door will lock/unlock just fine. Is there a clip holding it in place that could have come loose?

I searched the forums, but most of the issues I found were about the lock assembly not engaging, which is not the case for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The spring steel clip inside the door, on the backside of the lock cylinder, has slid off or fallen off. Remove the door panel (use a wide putty knife) and look inside. It is helpful to have an assistant push on the outside lock face when you slide the clip back on.
