My 68 coupe's steering box has a lot of slop. It was a power steering car but I converted to manual with the bergeson adapter. I like the quick ratio at speed but I have a low mile manual box I could swap in. I think I remember hearing that I'd need a manual specific idle arm, is that correct? Personally I don't mind the additional effort in parking lots too much. It'd be nice for that to be a little easier but will I give up a lot in "feel" cornering? Would I need anything else except the idler arm if I went with the manual box? Didn't shelby use the power box without the pump etc? Everything else suspension wise is built for performance. I'd like to hear opinions on what you'd do. I could always sell the manual box to pay for the power box to get rebuilt.

I swapped a manual box for a quick ratio box in my 64, I didn't have to change the idle arm or anything else for that matter.
It should be the same in a 68.
