I just bought a 71 Mustang Grande for my first rebuild. The ignition lock is seized and I can’t turn it. The steering wheel moves freely and the car is in park. Any suggestions how I can get it to release or change it while locked? Thanks for your input.

A large screw driver combined with a swift turn, and then replace it.

If the ignition lock being seized is a challenge - - will a rebuild be a bigger challenge

Try a little graphite powder in the barrel first. If you don't have any, rub the key with the tip of a lead pencil which is graphite and insert into the barrel, it may take several attempts.
