Hi all,
I am replacing a steering rack and ps pump in my 1990 GT. I found when I started that the previuos owner ran the power steering fluid return line through what I assume would be the tranny cooler in an automatic. I've never seen this done but I am also new to mustangs. This is my first significant project on this car.

I wanted to replace everything while I was in there, rack, pump and hoses. Should I leave it as it is, running through the radiator or should I go back to stock? I suppose I should cap or plug the cooler if I don't use it?

I had a dodge without one even though it had the toeing package. It went in 70k. I replaced it with a used one with a cooler and it lasted 100k more. Doesnt hurt anything. In fact it probably helps.
