91-93 ignition control module relocation

Ok searched the threads about my prob. Alot of people have had similiar prob as me. So had the ign control mod tested at autozone all green lights but failed the test. so i went to oreilys and failed. gotta a new on comming and thinking about extending the harness to the strut tower to get it away from the heat of the alt and intake. has ne seen or tried this?
