1991 timing problem

did you do any work that would throw the timing off at all?

that can be caused from a vacuum leak or a faulty IAC valve.

Did you remove the spout connector? It is located on the end of an electrical connection hanging from your distributor. It's a small plastic piece. You have to pull it off before setting the timing, then put it back on after setting timing.
If you already did, I'm not sure of your issue. Like said, perhaps vacuum?

It will bounce around a little with the spout in. Thats do to the computer adjusting timing constantly. If you want an accurate reading pull the spout connecter and check timing.

Pull this before checking your timing. Your ecu will constantly be adjusting your timing to help smooth out the idle.
