I was driving my car for about 10 minutes working fine. Then I shift into 4th gear and the gas pedal doesn't respond and I figure out that the car died. And then it would not start. My dad took a spark plug cable off and tested for spark and it doesn't spark but the engine cranks. Any ideas to what's wrong? I just replaced the timing belt a month ago and the timing belt it tight so it isn't that.

First get codes... Second it could be anything like an ignition switch, starter, etc, but check when you turn the key do you hear the fuel pump prime?

TFI module or PIP. If it is a duel plug crank sensor

I just had the exact same problem on my 90 it would turn over all day long but no spark and wouldent start, so I replaced the icm and she ran fine again!

My dad was the main mechanic for our city vehicles but now he works at the chp and he said it was a bad ICM but then he said he did the test wrong and now he says its a bad crankshaft position sensor
