while driving, around 65mph the car will hit a dead miss, acts like you turn the key off and back on real fast, motor runs strong, but it doesn't do it all the time, just did a fresh tune up, plugs,wires,cap,rotor...codes 31 and 87

Code 87 is an issue with fuel pump. If it comes and goes I'd start buy looking for a loose connection.

31 is egr I think?

Check the body ground. I had a similar problem with my 88 and added and extra one from the battery to the body and the problem was gone.

Added another ground from the motor to the chassis, also replaced the fuel filter and primary fuel pump relay, no more issues

Try cleaning the mass air sensor.Did wonders for me.
