So I have a new set of 1995 Cobra R springs made for Ford by Eibach, Ratings are as follows: 700-850 lb./in. variable in the front and 200-260 lb./in. variable in the rear. Now ive been told that these will lower a V-8 apprx 1 1/2 all around. Im not sure what it will do to my 99 6er. I have been to many sites on the internet that address the spring swap question, but not any involving these springs. Has anyone out there used these springs? Take note that I have converted many suspension components to the V-8 spec parts (ie 8.8 rear w/quad, 03 Cobra front lower control arms, Mach 1 Tokico struts and shocks, 03 Cobra steering rack w/ Cobra R greaseable outer tie rods, etc. Would it be safe to assume that I would need to install other components to counteract the lowering of my vehicle? (shorter sway bar end links, bumpsteer, rear snubber, etc.). If anyone can shed somelight, please post. I just want to do the job right the first time around. Thanks in advance.
The springs should work with no problem. You will probably only get a 1-1.25 inch drop out of the front springs because you have a lighter front end than the Cobra R does. You've already got some stiffer shocks and struts to match the stiffer springs so I say slap those bad boys on there.
