96 Mustang V6 Overheated and Shut Down... Time for an Engine Overhaul?

Just had my 96 V6er overheat bigtime and stop the engine from the overheating. Now I have a bunch of small water leaks from the intake manifold. There is no water in the cyls as the plugs are all dry and the engine runs just a little rough now that it has cooled down. Alright guys, give the the real answer to this, should I do a complete overhaul or just replace the gaskets. This was a daily driver and I want it to be so in the future, however, I need it to be dependable. Am I going to have head and intake issues. Do I need to replace them, I am not very familiar with the Ford aluminum V6 engines so I don't have a clue as to how they react to this type of problem. Thanks

This is just a guess , since I'm not in front of your car...

I would say take it down to the short block, take the heads to be milled and have them checked, put some MLS head gaskets in with a few coats of copper spray and then put them back on.

Or you could skip the machine work, and swap for the split port heads and intakes.
