98 GT won't start

Although there may already be questions and answers about this subject, much has nothing to do with the subject itself, but alot about bla, bla, bla...

Here's my simple question: Came home last night and parked the car in the garage. Got up this morning, put the key in the ignition and cranked the engine "car will not start". Noticed the battery light is on so, took batery to be tested and it is good 12.3V. Tried again, cranks but won't start. Since battery is good, tried jump starting but that failed too.

"Alternators charge the battery after one uses it to crank the engine and to run accessories" they don't have anything to do with cranking the engine and cranking power so, no bla, bla, bla about alternators. It could be bad since the light is on, but then the battery would not have 12.3V, I could not run the lights or radio, etc. and still, that has nothing to do with starting the engine.

Checked all the fuses and that passed too. With the ignition in ON postion I can hear the clicking of the fuel pump relay so am assuming there's no issue with the fuel supply therefore no bla, bla, bla about replacing fuel pumps unless you can specify. Also, Alarm system has been disabled in this car for 8 years so not an issue there.

Have called AAA and car will be towed to dealer in about 3 hours. If you are knowledgeable and can with certainty tell me why the car cranks but won't start this morning before they arrive, I want to teak your brain, rather than paying $400-600 at the dealer. If not, bla, bla, blas are not necessary.... thanks

could be the fuel pump, could be the PATS...next time you can try spraying some starting fluid into the throttle body and see if it will crank one time...if not you know it's not the fuel pump and could be "spark related", to check that pull a plug wire and while having someone crank the key hold the boot end near somethng metal and look for the spark/arcing
Now you can know if it's fuel or spark...from there you can usually get a clue as to the issue
Without having you done either it's pure speculation as to the cause

Wow, you sure aren't a Mary Poppins. Try to tune down the attitude. It'll get you more help.

There is a difference between a 'crank no start' and a over all 'no start'.

So at this point, your car cranks but it doesn,t start.

There is a massive difference between the battery having the right voltage but not being able to take an amperage hit. There are battery testers out there that put a load on a battery and show you how good the battery really is. For instance, a battery may read 12.8V but when you put a load of 100amps on it, it'll take a digger down to 9V, which WONT start your battery.

Also, there is a relay for the starter. Which clicks as well. So can you be for certain that the clicking your hearing is the relay for the fuel pump or the starter?

I have to agree with the others. This is not the way to encourage people to want to help you.

It almost sounds like you are looking for a video game "cheat" code. There is no elevator to success. You have to take the steps.

Crank with no-start check list. The answers to the questions will tell you where to focus your efforts.
