A/C problems...a little weird

1090 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Kyle F
I just recently began having problems with my air conditioning with my '92 Mustang GT. Here's what's happening...the air is blowing out, but not through the normal vents. The air is coming out through the defrost vents and the vents at your feet. What could I do to fix this??? Keep in mind that I am not a genius when it comes to fixing cars, but it is HOT and humid here in Ky, and cannot afford to take it to the shop. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I have basically the same problem on my wife's '95 5.0. It is only coming out of the defrost vents. I popped the hood and found that the vacuum line on the passenger side by the receiver dryer is broken in two. However, I can't find where the other half of the line is. Just the part that comes from the passenger compartment into the engine compartment for about a foot to a coupler in the line. Then the line broke just after where it connects to the other side of the coupler.

Where would this line run to next?

Nevermind, I found it right after I made the post.
can you help me out with the same problem. Let me explain the problem first and maybe you all can help me out better. Last night I used the defrost for the first time in a long time and when I turned on the a/c today, it didn't want to blow from the vents. It continued coming out on top. I also removed the dash yesterday cause i was installing a satellite radio, so i was afraid i might have pulled something i wasn't supposed to. Well help me out somebody. Thanks
I am having the same problem. GladI found this thread. I will know what to look for now.
