a few things about my A/C is a while back at times when my A/C would be on, I would sometimes hear a loud scratching noise that would only last a few seconds and i wouldn't hear it again for awhile. Also, I did notice that my compressor clutch would stay on and never disengage, as i was refilling my freon. Maybe this caused me to get bad reading on the pressure so I may have filled it to much. Sometime later I went to turn on my A/C and I heard that scratching noise again and my vents started smoking, I believe that it was freon coming through my vents but I'm not sure. Since then I have not touched my A/C at all because I don't want to make the problem worse.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

If you are using the little cans from an auto parts store to fill your A/C, you can't overfill it. If you are using a 30lb container from Sams Club, then yes you can overfill - but you would be using guages and would know your pressure.
